Me and my many..VOICES

I've always felt like a writer. I've always loved the smell of ink and paper and I've always been keen - to read, to learn and to write. Weaving magic with words has always fascinated me - I've always been charmed by it's beauty.

I first started writing in a journal...and with a poem as I had been doing Math a day before the examination - last moment preparations and it's immense pressure had had it's toll. I scored off a 90% in that test but yet more precious was - my ten year old self had discovered her passion for writing.

After a lot of scribbling in journals, occasional blogging, angsty poetry and well-appreciated essays, I finally took it to a new level when I applied to be a coordinator for the newspaper supplement of the ever famous the Statesman - Voices. Voices is just that - the Voice of the upcoming generation as it is, possibly the only one, written entirely by school students. Being a coordinator, however, makes it yet more special as I get to be yet more intimately attached to it.

Yesterday, I attended my first monthly Voices meeting where I got my identity card. My identity card is yet to have a picture on it, but it still holds a very high value and is indispensable and priceless to me.

May my voice reach out and touch a lot of souls...
